Concept.  I started Studio Tejas in 2004 with the idea of making a virtual studio space where business and art to could interact for mutual benefit.  The approach has two paths: first, to provide creative and affordable design that utilizes local artists' work; second, to offer low-cost portfolios for artists, writers, and other creative professionals. It's a collaboration that benefits everyone. I especially enjoy working with small businesses, start-ups, and independents, who need all the creativity they can get for their limited marketing budgets in order to "stand out from the herd".

Why "Tejas"? "Tejas" was the Native American (Caddo) word for "friend" picked up by early Spanish explorers. The offspring of two Texans, I spent my early years in Mexico, where I was immersed in both Mexican and American culture. I later attended college and graduate school at two Texas universities.  My life has been enriched by many "tejanos" who have shown me the best of both worlds.
